Famous Photos Reinvented

Afghan Girl- Steven McCurry
This photo is of a 12 year old Afghan girl at a refugee camp that McCurry had the chance to snap a photo of. Her eyes are what makes her unique and beautiful. This year, I want to recreate this photo, emphasizing the beauty in someone's eyes.

Yoko Ono and John Lennon- Annie Leibovitz
I heard the meaning behind this photo from Mr. Dewberry and was completely mind blown.
John Lennon posed naked hugging Yoko Ono, showing that he completely trusts her. Being naked is a human's venerability, so I'm not completely freaked out by this photo anymore. I want to photograph a couple to portray the love and trust they have in one another just as Leibovitz did as instructed by Lennon.

Tears- Man Ray
This one is required. I'm thinking instead of a face with tears, I'll have ice with googly eyes on it... Haha, weird. No I'll think of something interesting.

Flowers Idea

This picture reminds me of my photo I took two years ago~ I like the lady bug on the right flower. I also like that neither flowers are in the middle of the photo.

I like taking macro pictures whenever I take nature photos because it zooms in on the beauty of a leaf or a petal. The water droplets look really nice.
I thought this was an awesome idea. I want to ice my flower.

This picture has a clean background and the colors a little muted. It's dead center on the photo, but it has some buds sticking out to the side of the photo, essentially balancing it.

Pretty Ugly Ideas

I like the composition of this picture, where the cars are stacked up but also are in a line.
This photo seems very simple. It's a rusted shed in a field with trees in the background.  The shed seems to stand out against the green.

This picture reminds me of the photo I had taken of dead flowers last year. I really like photographing wilting plants. It looks really cool.

Leadership Portrait Poses Ideas

I thought about taking a picture like this, but closer for the tight crop on the face. I like that the tennis racket is "overlaid" on the woman's face, so I was thinking that the racket's top is under the eyes if I make the picture really close to his face.

This midshot looks strong and it shows that he is a tennis player. Arms outward on men make them look sturdy.

This pose seems modest. It's like "yeah, I'm a tennis player. Hi." It's a full body picture, but the photo on the bottom looks more fun to photograph.

If the feet were showing, this would be an awesome full body picture. It shows that he's ready to play, which my leader is.

I just like this picture. It doesn't show the player, but it shows what the player does.

David Hockney ideas

This week's project is David Hockey-esque pictures
This is the photo that is first seen before entering David Hockney's website. It's amazing because there are parts of other pictures put onto the overall picture. It's a desert scene with a road and many street signs. The photo pieces aren't put on all perfect. It's overlapped and some are even tilted. I really like this picture.
This picture is made from polaroids!!! It looks like some pictures are zoomed into the guitar while others are wide shots.

I don't think this one is of photographs... This one looks like pieces of paper colored on and put together. I should do that for Mr. Childress's class. Yeaahhh.

Movie Poster Ideas

So, I'm not into bands and stuff... So movie posters seem more appealing to me.
Plus, I was in Video Production last year and I made movie posters (ugly ones).
I went to AllPosters.com and found the posters.

This poster has a reviewer's quote at the top to assure the potential audience that the movie is worth watching if you want a thrilling movie. The title is bold behind Ryan Gosling's head and it has a catch phrase. The image itself is Ryan Gosling holding a bag and (I'm not positive) he's walking away/leaning on the car. It matches the movie title.
The Harry Potter poster is an action poster, showing Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint running in a forest. It's a part of the movie, showing fans the "action packed" movie this is.  There's not much text other than the title.

This poster is of V for Vendetta, showing a bald Natalie Portman and that guy in a mask. I haven't seen this movie... But I really want to. Anways, there is a logo for the "V" which is in the movie and there's also a catch phrase in the top right saying "Freedom! Forever!" which I can only guess that it's the theme of the movie.  There's also a  line of people above the title and a negative space under it.

Love Ideas

Oh my God, I can't find the names of the people who took these pictures because I found them on Google and the websites that used these pictures did not credit them...

I can relate to this picture. So when I saw it, I thought it was really neat how the nasty Valentine's heart candies are connected via a major highway. The messages on the candies also are relevant to the feelings of a long-distance relationship. Both miss each other and the most either can do is e-mail/call/text each other because they can't see each other every day.

Sibling love~ This reminds me of my little brothers, but not as serene.

Well... I grabbed these two pictures from tumblr. They're vintage like and even though their faces aren't shown, the body language shows that they're a couple... Or at least hooking up or something. I love the coloring of the photos (although you can't see the second one as well...)

Individuality Ideas

The assignment was "What makes you an individual?"
The examples were tattoos, piercings, make-up, hairstyles. I saw a few people already asking if anyone has tattoos or piercings so that they can photograph them. I really don't want to just take a picture of someone with a tattoo or piercing because that'll be everyone's idea...

I only have two pictures for my ideas. For the most part of this assignment, I really don't know who I would go to and ask "hey let me take a picture of your awesome tattoo" because I don't really know anyone with a tattoo... Instead, I thought about scars and natural marks on a person. Those make someone different from others just as tats and stretched earlobes do. So the first picture is of a ballerina's legs. She's got scars and bruises. You can tell that this person is a committed dancer. The second picture is of a woman who's face is wrapped up, exposing only her nose, mouth, and mole. The clean background makes this picture simple. Looking at this picture, it makes me think that if this person were lined up with a few others and they have been wrapped up the same way, she would be easily identified because of her mark.

I really like these pictures. They're very simple. The ballerina one tells a story which makes a picture wonderful.

Cupcake Ideas

THIS IS THE CUTEST THING EVER! Cupcake burgers!!! Oh my god, I had looked through ten pages of cupcake pictures on Flickr to get to this picture. I'm not sure if someone saw this idea or not, but I want to make a cupcake burger now.  It's so cute~ I really want to eat those.
Yeah.

Hands Ideas

This picture reminds me of a picture like, three years ago, where there was a picture of a head, but all there was on the face was the mouth. It's pretty cool. This is like "talk to the hand" literally. I like it.

My little brothers like to play games, and over the break, they've played more than they should've. They exercised their thumbs and index fingers a lot. I took pictures of my little brother playing, but I probably need to reshoot after seeing some better ones.
