12+ inches of Snow [Gasp]

As we all know, there was a wonderful snow day on Thursday, February 11, 2010. It was the first time in FOREVER that Texas got 6+ inches of snow. The weather channel said that we got 12.5 inches of snow total.
Seeing all the snow, it reminded me of Chicago. My mom was reminded, too, in many ways. On Friday, she got my brothers and me up from bed around 8 in the morning, got us all dressed and forced us outside to play in the snow before she went to work.
She was "young" again, hitting my older brother and I with snowballs, pulling my little brothers on the red sled, and burying me in snow. It was a very fun day, I must say. I wish the snow would've stayed longer.
A little later that day, I went into the backyard and just laid in the snow. It was very nice and relaxing, really.

On Sunday, it was the first day of Chinese New Year. It is now the Year of the Tiger!
Sunday was also Valentine's Day. I completely forgot about Valentine's Day. I've always thought it was a waste of a holiday, but that's my opinion. Haha.
When my dad, my little brothers, and I stopped by Mickey D's before going to Asia Times Square, I took a really cool picture of my dad's newspaper.
I just thought it was absolutely cool. It's not an original idea, but it's a cool idea.

I guess that's all I got for now :]
Thanks for stopping by.

Lookie, It's Me :]

T^T Why do I look so sad? Haha.

These self-portraits were taken yesterday. I got really bored at home and I didn't feel like doing homework.

Usually, my self-portraits are sad looking, so this isn't really a surprise. It's not that I'm a sad person. Believe me, I'm actually really hyper, but my self-portraits tend to look better then I'm not smiling.

I think black and white pictures are very beautiful, depending on what is being taken and how the contrast is. I had to fix the black and white levels on photoshop.

The first photo is funny to me because a picture of my parents back when they were in high school is behind the hand with the mirror that's showing my face. It was more like an accident of where the picture was taken, but it turned out alright.

What do you think of my pictures?
Are they alright? Do they need some work? What could I've done to make it better?

Please leave a comment :D

White On White

Sarah Thomas. A very lovely model to have. :]

I've seen a white on white picture when I was a freshman that was taken by Ms. Taylor A. Brown. It was a very beautiful picture and I envied the simplicity of the picture. When I heard that we had to do a white on white picture, I was thinking of recreating the picture, but then I thought, "Why copy? I can think of something just as good."

Amazingly, this is the first picture that was snapped in the camera. Every other picture after that wasn't as great.
In photoshop, I fixed up the whites. I thought I was finished but Mrs. Ellman showed me this very cool site that had textures to layer onto pictures. I got the textures from Shadow House Creations. We experimented with some and got the picture! It was pretty cool.
It took me forever to figure out how to put on a water mark w/ Mrs. Ellman's help. Haha, I'm pretty slow.
Overall, I had a great time taking and editing this picture.
Thanks for viewing my blog and please leave a comment!
